How to Send Your FOI Request

  1. Copy the letter above and paste it into an email.
  2. Address it to your ICB's FOI team — the email is shown in the letter or you can find it on your ICB's website under "Freedom of Information".
  3. Alternatively, submit via WhatDoTheyKnow.com for a public, tracked record of the request.
  4. The ICB must acknowledge receipt promptly and respond within 20 working days.
  5. If they refuse, they must cite a specific exemption under the FOI Act.
  6. You can appeal a refusal to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for free.
